Join us for an informative session designed for past, present, and future participants of the District's RiverSmart Homes Program.

Please join Department of Energy & Environment, RiverSmart Ambassadors, and your neighbors for a rain garden cleanup & maintenance training.

Meet us at the entrace as we'll begin by performing maintenance on a bioretention in the surrounding area. There will be light refreshments and native plant seeds for participants. DOEE staff will provide all supplies including gloves and tools. Please wear sturdy close-toed shoes, a water bottle, a snack or two, and a positive attitude.

We’ll raffle two small trees to brighten our neighborhood! All volunteers who participate in the clean‑up will automatically be entered. Join us, make an impact, and you might go home with a new tree for your yard!

Participants will:

• Learn about the importance of bioretentions in our communities and watersheds;

• Learn how to perform beautifying maintenance on rain gardens in your neighborhood; and

• Make a difference by contributing to the upkeep of natural areas in your neighborhood.
